Ripplex Address Book is a software tool to conveniently manage all the contact information in one place. In Ripplex Address Book, your friends enter and receive their information in their respective clients and you receive the most updated information automatically. You don't need to enter and update the contact information of all your friends any more! Moreover, Ripplex Address Book shows all communication channels used by your friends, some of which you yourself may not even be using. For all these channels, you will see your friends' IDs, should they choose to disclose them to you. With Ripplex Address Book, you control the disclosure setting for each piece of information and to each friend. Your information is primarily stored in your PC and not in a third party server. The communication between you and your friends is more secured since it is encrypted.

In addition, Ripplex Address Book version 1.2 has several new features such as the automatic synchronization feature with Skype and twitter, etc.

You need to go through the following steps in order to use Ripplex Address Book:

1. Make sure your system meets the following requirements: "System requirements for Windows" or "System requirements for Mac".
2. Download and install software:

   Go to the "Download" page and download. Please follow the instructions to install the software. For further details, please look at the "Download and install" page in the user guide.

3. Set up your Ripplex account:

   You will need to set up a Ripplex ID to use Ripplex. Please run the software and follow the instructions. For further details, please look at the "Account set up" page in the user guide.

You are all set to start using Ripplex Address Book!

Ripplex is a client application, not a web service. All the information you entered is stored at your computer and not in a third party server. Only when you use "Synchronize" feature to synchronize your Ripplex address books on several computers, your data is stored on Ripplex server in encrypted form. It can only be decrypted by your private key which is stored in your computer so no one else but you, not even Ripplex Inc. can access your information.

The disclosure of your information to your friends is totally under your control too. You decide who should see what information of yours. Your friends can then see the information you have disclosed without anyone else being able to preview it since it is only stored in your friend's computer and your computer and all the messages between trusted links are encrypted.

Every version of Ripplex Address Book is checked by principal virus scan softwares (Norton AntiVirus, McAfee, VirusScan, Virusbuster, Sophos Anti-Virus) before final release. Although, like other client softwares, some virus scan software might detect virus by mistake.

In Windows XP/Vista, you must set the default mailer in order to compose a mail with your desired mailer. See "Change Default Mailer" for more detail.

In Windows XP/Vista, some files may be left when you uninstall version 1.1.3 and upgrade to later version., Please remove old files manually.

1. If you're using Ripplex inside the network (such as work place etc...). Please try using proxy setting on. Ask your administrator for host name and port number. To setup your proxy connection from Configuration Window, select [Window] > [Configuration...] from the menu.
2. Your fire wall setting might be blocking your connection for Ripplex. Please let fire wall to allow connection for Ripplex Address Book.
